And I forgot to add that 2% MF is way too dry. You know, the times when all fats were regarded as bad and all cereals were considered excellent have long passed. A decent cheese should have at least 12% MF. At least. I guess that's why you put all the gums in it, to make it look creamy, because otherwise 2% MF is just a very dry and tasteless cheese.
The creamy cottage cheese is made with a specific process and the gum are used to make its texture. Western creamery makes a dry curd cottage cheese that is different in texture than this one. Don't hesitate to contact us for any further informations.
I used to joke that my religion does not allow me to eat milk mixed with corn starch or guar gum.
Unfortunately since there is no such cheese in Canada, I simply don't eat cheese. I refuse to eat a strange mixture of guar gum, xanthan gum, locust bean gum, gelatin, salt, and traces of cheese. I don't think that you care however ...
There is many kinds of cheese in Canada.
Hi there,
It would be great if you considered a Cottage Cheese with no added gums/stabilizers or glycerides! Have you ever thought about this? In the US, I know of two brands that produce their cottage cheeses this way; Nancy's Organics and Friendship's- but so far, no one in Canada does this. With consumers looking for less and less 'additives' and more 'whole, real' foods, this would be great!
Thank you for this comment, have you ever tried the pressed cottage cheese ? We will transmit your good suggestion.
